I was asked by commercial studio Exopolis to help out in a rebranding for Turner Classic Movies. They were needing a new bumper that reflected the film noir mood that the studio specialized in curating. They specifically asked me to produce textures for a 3D environment that were reminiscent of the work of American painter Edward Hopper (a personal favorite of mine).
Exopolis sent me unwrapped 3D model geometry and I used a mixture of digital painting software ArtRage and Adobe Photoshop to create a dirty and tangible-looking oil texture, that was then reapplied to the 3D models by the studio and animated.
Turner Classic Movies "Now Showing"
Toyota Tacoma "Nessie"
A producer from Method Studios had me design the Loch Ness Monster for this funny Toyota commercial. The turn around was very fast because the crew was shooting at Loch Ness and Method needed to get the vfx completed quickly.
Though it is only in briefly, the studio interpreted the design pretty closely (which was basically a T-Rex, let’s be honest).
The spot always gets a chuckle.
A rough sketch of what portions of the creature would be seen in the final visual effects.
Sketch of the head. This was leaning too heavily on the dinosaur side.
