ABOUT

LORIN was raised in an extraordinarily creative family who encouraged him to pursue the visual arts from his earliest years. His love of storytelling, illustration and design developed from copying his father's industrial design portfolio, compounded with a healthy dose of the work of Syd Mead, and Star Wars visionaries Joe JohnstonNilo-Rodis Jamero, and Ralph McQuarrie

OVER the course of twenty years, Lorin has amassed a wealth of experience in pre-production conceptual design and art direction, as well as work in visual effects, previsualization and visual development for animated features, game development, product design and publication.

IN 2009 he founded the blog Nuthin' But Mech and populated it with his robust network of friends and professional acquaintances from his time in the entertainment industry to populate it with high quality art work. The blog eventually spawned four books with publisher Design Studio Press.

CURRENTLY, Lorin is back in school full-time pursuing a new career in academia.
